There is a continued outcry worldwide against the disparity of incomes in society worldwide especially in the financial sector.
FFunction worked with the French Magazine Basta! to create an interactive that allows the user to input their income and discover how long it would take to earn the same as a trader in one of France’s major banks.
The results are incredibly asymetrical; an average income earner would have to work 9.7 years to earn the same as a bank CEO does in just one month. In other words, for every Euro you make, the banker makes 117. This data visualization enables the user to compare salaries across various positions; PDG (CEO), haut dirigeant (executive), trader and salarié (salaried employee), and across various banks. You can see the data (click “Voir les données”) with sources cited.
