This is an exceptional opportunity to step into a newly-defined leadership role at an internationally recognized data visualization studio based in Montreal. The Lead Developer will work shoulder-to-shoulder with the Creative Director to ensure the success of FFunction’s projects.
Since 2008, FFunction (ffctn.com) has been at the vanguard of data visualization worldwide. Over the last decade we have helped clients including 3M, UNESCO Institute for Statistics, Google, the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, HP, National Geographic and the Canadian Cancer Society visualize their most valuable property—their information—and use it effectively to drive change, start conversations and make better decisions. FFunction is also a certified B Corporation, part of a worldwide community of companies using their business as a means to solve social and environmental problems.
The Lead Developer will be responsible for delivering top-quality interactive data visualizations, digital experiences and data-driven applications that work smoothly across devices. Oftentimes this person will be juggling several projects at once and working closely with a cross-functional team to bring the projects to fruition. The successful applicant will be passionate about dataviz and software engineering, and have a proven track record in architecturing, implementing and shipping highly visual interactive projects. Metaphorically speaking, this role will have one foot planted firmly in production and the other in management. Therefore it’s crucial that the Lead Developer not only knows how to roll their sleeves up and deliver projects, but also feels confident interacting with clients and supervising junior developers.

Applicants must be legally entitled to work in Canada. Please note that this is an onsite role; no remote applicants please. We would also ask that inquiries are submitted by email only. Please don’t call or visit the studio unannounced as we are very often busy in meetings.
